Repair café

Details
Inspired by Repair café (https://repaircafe.org/en/) and several other repair center initiatives we are planning to host recurring REPAIR CAFÉ DAYS at XinFab where everyone can learn from each other how to give a second chance to their belongings.
Repairing, hacking, or up-cycling, let's get creative :)
We will start off on Thursday the 7th of November at 19:30 at XinFab with an open discussion on how to run these events, so any of your ideas and support are welcome! No matter whether you're a skilled maker or a motivated rookie, let's sit down together and see what we can repair!
During the first part of the meetup, we will focus on how to organize the event. After that, we will do an intro to where and how to get replacement parts and equipment in Shanghai and Taobao. So if you are new in town, this is a great chance for you to learn more about it!
Also, if you already have something you want/need to fix bring it along and we will discuss how to it could be fixed or reused.

Want to know more about Repair café ?
It is an initiative that began in 2009 in The Netherlands by Martine Postma. The idea behind it is to organize by and for local residents a meetup in which people can repair from household equipment to clothing, bicycles and more. Meetups are fixed in a location where tools are available and there are volunteers to help (not to fix it for you).
The Repair Café teaches people to see their possessions in a new light. And, once again, to appreciate their value. The objectives are to reduce waste, to maintain repair skills and strengthen social cohesion.*(text source from repaircafe.org & wikipedia)

ABOUT MEETUPS
***This is NOT a workshop or a lecture - just a bunch of people interested in the topic who want to talk about it and maybe come up with a project, so don't be shy and don't worry if you don't know a thing about it! We will figure it out together.
***About the costs of projects: Sadly Xinfab does not have funds to fund projects. The group splits the costs among its participants. Or if you're going to make something for yourself, its cost is on you.
Please follow us on Meetup to keep posted on this and other meetups. Also, that's where you'll be informed if anything changes!
