Snowshoeing Boom Creek to Boom Lake / Highway 93

Details
Boom Lake has similar terrific views as Taylor Lake, with less than a third of the uphill grind. We will snowshoe the trip in the morning to increase the chances of the sun illuminating the beautiful view of the lake. Even though the trail is popular with cross country skiers, we will be on the snowshoe trail.
The trail crosses Boom Creek right way, goes for a short distance and eventually switchbacks to the left. A steady but gentle elevation gain ensues. The next 3.1 kilometers are more undulating, but still very easy and obvious. Near the end, the trail descends down and to the left of the lake and drops you out at the lakeshore.
When the sun is shining on the lake and surrounding mountains, you are in for a treat. Boom Mountain, outliers of Chimney Peak, Quadra Mountain and Bident Mountain all tower majestically over the lake.
