Table Mountain

We will car camp at Castle Falls Campground and do several day hikes from this base. It is possible to drive out as a day trip from Calgary (3 hour drive), but there is no cel service at the campground to accommodate last minute changes.

Park at the Beaver Mines Lake Day use area. Follow an easy trail through pleasant aspen groves, then up more steeply past a few viewpoint benches. Then off trail on moderate scree past a notch in a gulley system and more moderate scree to a gentle broad summit ridge, passing through a large larch glade. Terrific views overlooking the prairies. Return the same way.
Difficulty: medium/hard off trail, requires moderate bushwalking, route finding, awkward scree/talus cross slopes.
The organizer is not a paid guide. While we will hike as co-adventurers, participants must be fully capable of independently travelling and navigating through wilderness terrain.
