Tai chi’s slow movements are the trademark of this ancient martial art known for its ability to improve balance, calmness, and relaxation. Our approach to tai chi emphasizes the body mechanics behind the movements. This added emphasis to structure and form enhances the internal energy flow to foster additional fluidity, strength, and rooting. These attributes cross over to enhance daily activities and improve sports performance. Body mechanics also contains powerful qigong movements that lead to improved health and vitality. Our curriculum features William C.C. Chen's 60-movement Yang-style form, sword form, body mechanics applications, and push hands.

Our tai chi classes are structured for people of all ages and fitness levels. We offer an easy beginner routine to get started making it easy to start reaping tai chi's many benefits immediately! Sifu Russ works with each new student in learning tai chi at our relaxed and supportive environment in the Shorin Center: 955 Garden of Gods Rd Suite E in Colorado Springs 80907.

If you have significant tai chi experience, join our CONTINUE TAI CHI class from 7:00-8:00pm, where we focus on advanced body mechanics concepts, the sword form, and push hands practice. Contact us, and we’ll recommend the class that is right for you!

This class is geared toward all levels of tai chi experience. Our curriculum features William C.C. Chen's 60-movement Yang-style form and sword form. Tai Chi with Body Mechanics promotes balance, fluidity, strength, calmness, relaxation, and rooting. Body Mechanics also contains powerful qigong movements that promote health and vitality. We will make every effort to conduct the training outdoors; however, you will need to bring shoes that have only been worn indoors to prevent tracking rocks into the training area in case we need to take the class indoors. Sock feet and bare feet are also acceptable. Masks/face coverings will be required for indoor classes, so please be sure to bring one. New students can join anytime!
