What we're about

The Yellow Door is a growing community organization located in the heart of the McGill residential area.

The spirit of social intercourse has become the main focus of the organization. Through creativity, music, food, story-telling and community engagement projects, we see all generations of Montréal citizens taking charge and becoming innovators of our city. Promoting dialogue where there is none, sharing ideas and projects to solve social issues, or even simply meeting new friends. It serves as a launch-pad for a growing community of people striving to play a part in society.

Our vision is to empower young people and older adults to initiate and engage in community and creative projects that promote social inclusion, combat urban isolation across all generations, and spark positive societal change.

Sharing Circle (Ecological Grief)

The Yellow Door

This group is for facilitating regular circles to share our fears, anxieties, grief and other related feelings regarding climate change and environmental loss. It's also here for sharing tools and resources about this subject. Circles may be open or thematic and will have a talking stick so everyone gets a chance to share. The intentions are: to speak from the heart, listen from the heart, be brief, and share spontaneously. When we are in a circle, what we share does not fall on any single person's shoulders to bear- instead, it is held in the circle, witnessed, and released.
