Come out and enjoy the local distillery! Their cocktails are awesome! https://www.apdistilling.com/cocktails It's right next to Biergarten, so we might end up there afterwards. But you know what they say? Liquor before beer, you'll be in the clear!
So if you know me, you know I LOVE Holland. I lived there years ago for 3 months and I enjoyed every minute (it's partially why I do meetup in the first place). So April 27th is their Kings Day celebration, and let me just say the parties that day put the Belmar St. Patrick's Day parade to shame. But I decided to focus more on the classier side of Dutch culture to celebrate and that's the tulips! Around this time of year gorgeous fields of tulips grow. Since I can't make it out to Holland right now, I figure I do the next best thing! Tickets are $10 online/$12 at the door. From their website: "Holland Ridge Farms knows how to grow tulips. Fourth generation tulip growers from Holland, with the youngest Jansen always helping in the fields. This abandoned dairy farm, and all it's potential, had been on the watchful eye of the founder, Casey Jansen, Sr. He came here from Holland over 55 years ago making his mark in New Jersey, cultivating tulips in greenhouses for wholesale markets. Acquiring this farm in Cream Ridge was a challenge and also his lifelong vision. Colorful tulips can be seen everywhere each Spring in Holland and now in New Jersey, the beginning of his dream, Holland Ridge Farms. Stop by the barns, when you arrive. You'll find, Hollandwood Theatre, Good 'ole Days Museum and Hollandshop, all with a little touch of Holland for everyone to enjoy. Pick a basket of tulips at the largest U-Pick spot on the East Coast! At Holland Ridge Farms we are committed to tulips and will continue to plant more rows of tulips each year." Also after we'll hit up Cream Ridge Winery, because why not? $5 to have a tasting of 10 wines! https://www.creamridgewines.com/our-wines
Jammin for Jaclyn (6th) is an annual benefit for those battling cancer. They pick a couple recipients each year and basically throw an awesome party in their honor. All proceeds go directly to the recipients. Original event found here - https://www.facebook.com/events/240093940201259/ It's a $25 minimum donation at the door. They provide a hot and cold buffet, and they also have vegan options! Half the family that runs this event is vegan. Vegan In NJ will have a couple tables set aside so that we can hang out with all you awesome people while we stuff our faces, listen to awesome music, and maybe even get on the dance floor! I mean, not me, but maybe you.😂
Let’s go on a hike at the Gateway National Park in Sandy Hook! We are looking at a ~4 mile hike with relatively flat terrain. Meet me at parking lot E, just north of the Visitors Center along Hartshorne Drive. No doggies for this hike as it is mating season for shore birds 🦢❤️
