Mt Pleasant CC: Intuitive Yoga for Intermediates
Chair-ish your chairs! 😊 Welcome to term 4 with an invitation to start chair-ishing the times you spend with chairs, because there is so much more we can utilize our chairs for than just sitting on them! This term we will explore chairs as a Yoga prop and how we can take our practice off the mat and on to a chair. Each week we will discover the chair version of at least one of our basic Asanas (postures), which will enable us to integrate some yogic moves into our daily lives and offer our bodies some relief from long periods of sitting. Getting playful in a Yogic style with our most used furniture companions will not only benefit our bodies, but open our minds to new ways of moving & behaving as well as developing a fresh conscious approach about what serves us well and what doesn't. We will experiment with different versions how to enrich and chair-ish our life on chairs, so that you will hopefully find your own way of creating some healthy fun moves on and around your chairs at home, in the office, or wherever chairs made you take a seat in your day. I am a certified and registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance (https://www.yogaalliance.org/TeacherPublicProfile?tid=152246) and a teacher of the team at the Yoga & Qigong School of Sumner (http://www.yogaqigong.co.nz/teachers.html) and specialize in intuitive yoga. My teaching is based on Hatha Yoga and the sessions will not only introduce you to yoga and guide you during practice, but also provide deep relaxation at the end of each class. I encourage the usage of intuition in practicing Yoga. This can greatly help with learning to listen to your body, gently adjusting the postures to your individual needs, enhance your overall well-feeling, and support you to create a practice which becomes uniquely your own. Welcome to Yoga & Intuition for beginners and intermediates, intuitive and gentle with a challenging edge for healthy expansion. I am a certified and registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance (https://www.yogaalliance.org/TeacherPublicProfile?tid=152246) and a teacher of the team at the Yoga & Qigong School of Sumner (http://www.yogaqigong.co.nz/teachers.html) and specialize in intuitive yoga. Yoga also is a perfect preparation for meditation. Please look up Sumner Meditation Meetup (http://www.meetup.com/Sumner-Meditation-Meetup-Christchurch-New-Zealand/), if you are interested in meditation as well. The koha (donation) we ask for the meditation session, which follows after Sunday's Yoga class in Sumner is included in your fee for the yoga class, in case you want to make use of this option (does not apply in case of the 'Try Yoga' promotion).
