Hatha Flow Yoga at New Malden Library

Hatha is a potent alignment-oriented practice that emphasizes the forms and actions within yoga postures. A gentle flow is incorporated as a transition between each posture, with a focus on synchronization between movement and breath. Emphasis is placed on strength, flexibility and balance as well as concentration and breath control. This class is based on physical postures (asanas), deep breathing, mindfulness and listening to the body. Suitable for all levels. Please bring your own mat. The class takes place in the library hall located on the second floor. Prices: Drop-in fee: £10 5-classes pass: £45 (valid for 2 months) 10-classes pass: £80 (valid for 3 months)

Yin Yoga

New Malden Studios

Yin Yoga is a softer, slower, more introspective practice than more dynamic (or yang) styles of yoga. In Yin Yoga we hold mainly floor based postures for between 3 and 5 minutes and use this time to connect with our breath and explore the different sensations in the body. As we hold the postures for longer, we are able to work into our connective tissues and improve flexibility in body at the same time as cultivating a sense of calm in the mind. Please bring your own mat.
