Flexible working: Making work, work for you

Details

Join us at Barclays Eagle Lab on 11th September, where #YETNorth will be talking about how greater flexibility in the workplace can lead to greater diversity. Flexible working is about empowering people to work when and where they want, giving access to new talent pools and giving better balance to our lives.

As ‘flexible working’ is becoming increasingly common in many sectors and roles, we explore how you can adapt your working hours to suit your requirements and lifestyle (making work work for you!) Our speakers will share how working flexibly can improve staff motivation, retention, productivity and diversity.

We'll be joined by:

Aviva Hargreaves, Head of People at DigitalBridge

Aviva is currently the Head of People at DigitalBridge. She is introducing creative and scalable ways to showcase the DigitalBridge culture as being one where great people join, develop, make an impact and thrive.

Aviva was recently an Ambassador for the CIPD steps Ahead Mentoring programme. Within that she also promoted the work that Timewise do - advocating flexible working and encouraging employers to advertise roles as flexible and inclusive. She has also volunteered for Smartworks, a national organisation that helps women get back into the workplace.

Mike Corlett, Operations Director at DigitalBridge

Mike Corlett is DigitalBridge’s Operations Director, responsible for the support, availability and provisioning of their AWS based SaaS platform, ensuring it continues to scale and perform as the company grows from beyond it’s ‘startup’ beginnings.

Mike began his career working for the IT giant Sun Microsystems in a Professional Services roll, moving into Operations and Support for companies such as MyTravel and INRIX. As the 4th employee to join DigitalBridge, Mike has first hand experience in how important flexibility is in small businesses and startups.
