There’s no better way to launch the new year this January than by choosing joy, boosting your health, and having an incredible, rejuvenating laugh—just for the sheer 'health' of it! As well as being a qualified yoga teacher... i'm also a certified laughter yoga teacher and thought this January would be a perfect time to relaunch it! Laughter Yoga is not traditional yoga and mats aren't essential... but you can bring one if you wish, or something to sit on to meditate at the end. After the class... we will walk to Lark Lane for food and coffee for those who wish. (£5 class cost per participant).
What is Laughter Yoga, Anyway?

This isn't traditional yoga, yoga mats aren’t required. The only connection is the powerful use of pranayama (breathwork). The magic happens through a series of playful, childlike exercises. We start with simulated (fake) laughter, but thanks to the incredible mirror neuron effect in your brain, that fake laughter instantly morphs into genuine, uncontrollable giggles.
Think about kids: they interact and spontaneously erupt in laughter all the time. As adults, we build up inhibitions and barriers, losing that beautiful ability to laugh unconsciously. Laughter yoga is your permission slip to be playful, break through those barriers, and just laugh for the pure joy of it! The only requirements? Come as you are, shed your inhibitions, take yourself less seriously, and be gloriously silly!
How a Session Works: Your Path to Joy

Warm-ups: We kick things off with dynamic warm-ups involving clapping, chanting ("Ho Ho, Ha Ha Ha!"), eye contact, deep breathing, and gentle stretching. This blasts through inhibitions and supercharges your energy!
The Main Event: We dive into intentional, structured laughter exercises. Through role-playing, imagination, and lively interaction, the simulated laughter becomes authentically contagious in seconds.
The Cooldown: We wrap up with a restorative "laughter meditation" where you simply let the joy flow naturally. This is followed by a guided relaxation to cool down, ground you, and internalize those amazing positive effects.
Remember: we focus purely on the physical act of laughing—no jokes needed! Your body gets the same incredible benefits whether the laughter is forced or spontaneous.
