What we're about

Hiking, Bushwalking, Trekking and being out in nature is good for the soul

Beginners, intermediate and experienced trekkers are all welcome, and if you have never been hiking before, come and join us for lots of great information about how to get started.

If you are not a hiker you are still welcome to come along and share the journey of some of the incredible places members have been.

Come along to share in the experiences of trekkers who have hiked in Australia and all over the world

Here are some of the things this Information Sharing Group will be doing:

• Sharing our hiking experiences, from short single-day bushwalks to multi-day hikes

• Talking about our favourite trails, including some hidden gems and those on our to-do list

• Sharing tips and hints about how to train for a trek, what to pack, what boots to buy and many more ideas;

and of course

• Meeting fellow trekkers and maybe planning some future adventures together

To help plan some interesting and informative presentations I have created some Profile Questions. It would be great if you could complete them.

I how have a Website / Blog - check it out and would love it if you subscribe to receive blog posts.

https://www.trekkingjan.com/

• Here is a link to my Trekkingjan Facebook page where you will find lots of information about hiking https://www.facebook.com/Trekkingjan/?ref=hl

I am sure this group will inspire you to lace up your boots and hit the trails.

Lares Trek, Peru

Headland Buderim Croquet Club

http://www.spiritofperuretreat.com/lares-trek.html Do you want to know about trekking in Peru - come along to hear Karen Tetther from Spirit of Peru present on the Lares Trek. The Lares Trek is a scenic, less touristy route to hike through the Andes. It is one day shorter than the Inca Trail but higher in elevation. The Lares Trek to Machu Picchu is an unforgettable and lesser-known trek combining amazing mountain scenery, glacial lagoons, valley bottom cloud-forest and authentic Quechua textile and llama-herding communities. This is a unique hike connecting you directly with traditional Andean people who want to share their lifestyle and culture. Our journey on the Lares last year was made more special as we were joined by Maestro Alejandro who played his flute as we journeyed through the mountains! The weather was cold but spectacular hiking at the highest point 4750m looking back to the beautiful lagoon! We hike down through a local weaving village where you can buy local products and support the local community - we finish at the hotpools in Lares Where /Time: 7pm - Headland Buderim Croquet Club, Syd Lingard Drive, Buderim. Drive past the Headland Bowls Club and a short distance up the road on the right is the Croquet Club. Cost: $2 contribution per person will be collected at the beginning of the meeting to help cover registration on the Meetup website and sundry costs Look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 12 Feb Jan (TrekkingJan)[masked] Please bear in mind our PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY philosophy.
