Skull Rock Campout (KOFA Refuge)
Back by popular request! Camping at Skull Rock in Kofa Refuge/Queen Canyon. **4WD / High Clearance vehicle required for this trip** Itinerary: Friday early afternoon leave to campsite that is 1.5 - 2 hours from Yuma. We will most likely meet at one of the gas stations on North Fortuna Road. We hope to set up camp before dark and enjoy the ambiance of the outdoors. Saturday - I want to get a hike in- you don't have to join though. Palm Canyon is close by and worth the time (either Saturday or Sunday am). We can also explore Queen Canyon as there are beautiful sites to see. Saturday night - Group dinner* and campfire in front of skull rock. Definitely sharing ghost stories! Sunday am - Leisure breakfast and drive out. Road conditions: Once on Palm Canyon road, we take an off-shoot trail on a rough, rocky road to Queen Canyon - it's a slow drive so another 45 minutes on the road. Drivers should have a 4 wheel drive, high clearance vehicle to make this road. I would suggest researching blogs about Queen Canyon/Skull Rock before signing up as a driver. We will try to camp at Skull Rock or as close as we can get to it. There is not a whole lot of room to camp right near skull rock so limiting the number of attendees. Please sign up only if you're serious. What do you need to bring: -Your own camping gear -Your own breakfast and lunches. We'll bring a camp stove, wood and poker sticks. *Saturday - possibly a group dinner. TBD as it gets closer:)!! -Bug spray -Sunscreen **We MAY update this event as it gets closer. We're posting early to give y'all a chance to research** If you do not have 4WD/high clearance, it is your responsibility to find someone to hitch a ride with. If you have 4WD/high clearance and can take passengers, please also post that. Questions? PM or comment below. Happy Trails! Wendy and Daniel

What we're about
New Name! Same fun!
This group is being re-dedicated to all of Yumas fun outdoor activities. Daniel and I absolutely love the fun outdoor activities there are to do in and around Yuma, so we are expanding our group to include these adventures!

We invite hikers to please continue to support, and post, fun adventures.

Daniel and Wendy are not Yuma natives but we do consider ourselves Yumans. Our Winters 🏜 are spent hiking, camping, kayaking, bird watching, & 4 wheeling. Our summers 🌞are spent hiking, camping, kayaking, night 4 wheeling, floating the river, swimming in the lakes, boating, and pretty much anything water bound.

If we post a 4 wheeling trip, please carefully read the description as to what you may need. Some trips will require 4WD, high clearance and some may only need high clearance.

If we post another trip, most of the time you will need to provide your own gear. If you dont have the proper gear, we can suggest where to get what you need. For kayaking, we do recommend a minimum of 12 foot kayak as those are easiest to navigate (personal preference).

Well! I hope that we can see this group grow and thrive with fellow Yuma outdoor enthusiasts!

Happy Trails! 👩‍❤‍👨 Wendy and Daniel
