A not too serious approach to a hopefully transformative practice of physical and seasonal alignment whilst being relaxed, present and with good humour.
Zen Yoga is a practice of Hatha and Taoist postural bodywork with flowing Qi Qong energy work to open and unblock the meridian lines allowing our Chi to flow freely. Practised with presence and self inquiry this is a liberating way of discovering our own path through the spontaneity naturally arising during the process.
I cultivated a daily meditational practice in 1992 to help allay my addictions and became ordained in the Soto Zen lineage in 1996. I am on a Zen teacher training programme with Zen Master Julian Daizan Skinner Roshi, in the Rinzai tradition and am a mindfulness teacher. I've practised yoga and Qi Qong in different forms daily since the early nineties and have found through the Zen Yoga practice a place where the different parts of the jigsaw puzzle can fit together and be expressed.
The issues are in the tissues! I qualified to teach yoga in order to help others have the same freedom from stress, addiction and anger I've found and share the sense of well being I experience daily. By opening up blockages in the meridian lines and allowing the energy to freely flow and relaxing areas of held tension we can untangle strands of stuck behavioural patterns. Ultimately this helps us actualise and embody awakening.
