# Talks

##1. Nino Korent : Symfony Serializer Intro

### Description

The Serializer component is meant to be used to turn objects into a specific format (XML, JSON, YAML, …) and the other way around. Even tho it is a complex topic I’ll try to give some reasons how we use it and how can we use it inside Symfony with Symfony serializer component.

### Speaker short bio

My name is Nino Korent and I’m a backend developer. I’m focused on PHP and open source technology. Currently working at Q for almost 2 years now.

##2. Miha Sušnik: PHP and Docker

### Description

Docker has been proven as a capable tool in a developer's toolbox and it has become an important part in the microservices ecosystem.

I will talk about my experiences with using a Docker development environment for PHP, how to start using Docker, where it exceeds expectations and where it falls short.

### Speaker short bio

I am software engineer with a strong history in building performant websites, APIs, and with experience in leading technical and non-technical teams. Over the years I've helped startups, as well as established companies, ship their digital products and services.

##3. Blaž Oražem: Teach'em something!

### Description

One of the most important things in a career of a developer is learning and the way through which an individual learns.

A person can find passion in a subject that is taught if the teacher can present it well - and more important - he/she can also lose interest if the teacher does not know how to present it.

That is the reason why we should always pay attention when teaching or mentoring others.

I'll focus on the topic about teaching IT and other content, in terms of who to teach, why and especially how to teach and how to be a mentor.

### Speaker short bio

My name is Blaž Oražem, I'm a software developer and CTO at Spletna postaja, an IT company from Ljubljana, which specializes in various web solutions.

I'm also a teacher and a mentor - I'm lecturing at various IT courses and workshops, mainly focusing on web development for beginners.

As a developer I primarily focus on PHP and Laravel development and I like writing clean and readable code. Sometimes I obsess with PSR coding standards :)
