Closer to the edge by Konstantina Gramatova, PhD, Software Architect [Bosch.IO Sofia]
The rapidly growing number of connected IoT devices producing and exchanging large amounts of data each and every millisecond around us started challenging the cloud-centric software solutions in so many different aspects - data privacy and security, network latency and overloading, storage and processing costs, computational efficiency, etc. The need for a quick and reliable data processing near to the data source motivated the adoption of a new concept – edge computing. It aims to unlock the full potential of the produced IoT device data via ensuring its instant processing, thus, bringing insights and intelligence via edge analytics, AI-based autonomy and so much more right there - on the edge device itself.
In this talk we will go through the key concepts of edge computing, its use cases and different aspects we must consider when deciding why and how to go for it in our own solution. We will wrap it up with a short overview of the edge computing capabilities of the Bosch IoT Suite.
IoT Security by Nikola Jelić, Lead Software Architect [Zühlke Serbia]
It is a running joke that “S” in “IoT” stands for security. The number of connected devices grows every day, and their influence on our daily lives is unquestionable. With this expansion, unfortunately, comes the danger of malicious access and control of these devices. While hundreds and thousands of companies and individuals are drawn to the growing marked of IoT to contribute, innovate and compete, the majority of the devices produced comes with serious security issues, which in turn may cause malfunction, loss of property and in the end, lives.
This talk will cover some of the fundamentals of IoT security, and how to deal with the increased attack vector when the attacker has the physical access to the device itself.
mySPIN wireless connection by Stefan Pavićević, Product Owner [Robert Bosch Serbia]
The mySPIN ecosystem enables riders to bring the smartphone content to their motorcycle, scooter or powersportsvehicle via vehicle’s cluster display and provide a whole new riding experience and enhanced safety.
This talk will introduce you to some of the fundaments of mySPIN for 2wheeler and how we managed to increase the safety of the rider, enable new ways of connection and provide a more convenient access to apps and smartphone content while riding.
Fast lane to market with Arduino by Vanya Valkova, Software Engineer [Zühlke Sofia]
Getting hardware to market is anything but fast - especially when starting out. Long dubbed a purely hobbyist and educational platform, Arduino could prove to be a viable solution for getting from the breadboard to a shippable product faster. We'll explore when, why and how your business could take advantage of it and discuss challenges and pitfalls in this process.
Attendance is free but the number of available places is limited to 100 (at the Zoom event).
We will provide a facebook live stream too (BOSCH & Zühlke pages)
