IMPORTANT NOTE: We have limited capacity (just 30 slots) for this event, and it is only appropriate for folks with at least a year of general Python experience. Please consider carefully if you meet the requirements and are willing to commit to several moths of study before RSVPing. If you are a no-show, you will NOT be allowed to participate in future events in this series.

Are you interested in deep learning? Wondering how to get started? Do you have at least a year of Python programming under your belt? If so, this series is for you!

PyLadies Chicago (https://www.meetup.com/Chicago-PyLadies/events/) and ChiPy are kicking off a new multi-part study group series starting on Sept 24th at 6:00pm. We'll be meeting on a monthly basis to review the fast.ai "Deep Learning for Practical Coders" MOOC - https://course.fast.ai/ .

Requirements to participate

  • At least one year of Python programming experience
  • Ability to commit to three months of self-study

What to expect

  • Setup our tooling to get ready to do deep learning
  • Begin reviewing the first lesson from "Deep Learning for Practical Coders" - Image Classification

The study group will be self paced, so regardless if you are only halfway through the first lesson or you've completed it, please join us!

Snacks will be provided by Metis, for a full meal please plan ahead.
