Let's Build an MCP Server

AI is everywhere and as developers it is becoming a larger and larger part of our daily lives. We’re seeing that AI is now able to do everything from answer our emails to trade stocks. But how is AI able to interact with applications outside its own domain? Enter MCP (Model Context Protocol), a standard developed by Anthropic that gives AI the blueprints of how to interact with an external source. During this session, we’ll dig in deep on what MCP is, how it works and we’ll take some time to build our own MCP server using Laravel’s MCP package.
This event will take place at our new location. Please note that the building doors will be unlocked at 6:30, 6:45, and 7:00 PM. If you arrive after 7:00 PM, we ask that you post a message on the event page so someone can assist with entry. Also, we request that you bring some indoor shoes for this event.

If this is your first time at the new location, this is the South-most building of the former RIM campus. When heading East on Labrador Drive, see the building on the right after The Timeless Material Company. The parking garage is closed, but there is parking on either side and on the roof of the garage. Once parked, you can find the entrance across from the garage.
