This month we're very lucky to be joined by Larry Garfield, a member of the PHP-FIG Core Committee, and co-author of several PHP RFCs. Larry will be touching on some advanced testing patterns in PHPUnit. Here's his description of the talk:

Hopefully by now, you know that testing is important, and you've integrated PHPUnit into your workflow. So now what?

In this "testing 202" course, we'll explore some features of PHPUnit you may not be using (but should), some techniques you may not have thought of, and how to extend PHPUnit yourself for your own nefarious testing purposes. And we'll answer the question, "so what are traits actually good for?"

While Larry will be joining us remotely, this is still an in-person event for GPUG members! Food and beverages will be served at 6:30, with the talk starting at 7.

This event will take place at our Vehikl's new location. The doors will be locked, but there will be a QR code on the door that you can scan to let someone know you're there. We request that you bring some indoor shoes for this event.

2240 University Ave E
Building C
Waterloo, ON
N2K 0G3

If this is your first time at the new location, this is the South-most building of the former RIM campus. When heading East on Labrador Drive, see the building on the right after The Timeless Material Company. The parking garage is closed, but there is parking on either side and on the roof of the garage. Once parked, you can find the entrance across from the garage.

Our sincere thanks to Vehikl for continuing to provide the venue, food, and beverages. Please be sure to RSVP so we can plan appropriately for catering.
