Cutting Edge Instruments and Ideas in Astronomy
On Zoom, August 21, 2025
A non-technical symposium for astronomy educators, astronomy enthusiasts, and students at all levels.
We will consider:
- What revolutionary discoveries are waiting just beyond our current understanding of the universe?
- How will next-generation telescopes transform our cosmic perspective?

- How will astronomers and astronomical institutions cope with the threatened (and devastating) cuts in federal support of science and education.
Speakers Include:
· Dr. Dara Norman, NOIRLab, President of the American Astronomical Society
· Dr. David Grinspoon, Planetary Astronomer and Best-Selling Author
· Dr. Nathalie Cabrol, Director of the Carl Sagan Ctr at the SETI Institute
