We’ve all heard it before: your company is nothing without data-driven thinking. True, a data-driven culture does empower companies to deliver greater value to their customers…. yet many organizations are still struggling to break down cultural barriers and drive data-driven innovation across their products.

At Intuit, we’ve encountered, struggled, and overcome many of these barriers and challenges as we build and continue to innovate our own scalable, A/B platforms to enable experimentation and engender a data-driven mentality. Every company faces different challenges on this journey, so we decided to come together and share what did, and didn’t work as we built our own in-house platforms. Technical solutions are a huge part of the big data puzzle, but one must also consider company culture when attempting to evolve toward a data-driven mindset. In addition to the technical details of our platforms, we also discuss how we encourage our decision makers to unlock the information they need for improving conversion, deepening engagement, and maximizing retention of their users.

So, what does data-driven product testing mean for personal finance services and products? Join this session to hear us talk about:

• Our journey towards driving a data-driven culture – the good, the bad, and the ugly.

• The obstacles and challenges faced in building our in-house product testing platforms.

• Examples of diverse product testing use cases from Intuit.

• The platform architecture and workflows from data collection to analysis using Hadoop and other big data technologies.
