The Evolution of A/B Testing at Walmart

Details

Details

You started an A/B testing program in your company a while ago. You’ve executed dozens of tests. You have some success stories and you’re getting more traction in the organization, but you’re also starting to face more challenges.

Now you’re asking yourself, “What’s next? How do I take our experimentation program to the next level? What processes do I need to put in place to handle double, triple, or quadruple the number of tests? What test platform features should I build or purchase to handle the complexity?”

At this meetup, Walmart Global eCommerce will share the journey we’ve taken in the last twelve months. As an analyst or A/B test manager (or if you’re part of an Experimentation COE - Center of Excellence), you’ll be interested to hear how we evolved our testing process to handle triple the volume while also increasing our ability to run more complex tests. As a product manager, you’ll hear about the features we built in our in-house test platform “Expo” and what problems these features are built to solve. Most importantly, you’ll hear how we made A/B testing a part of our organization’s operational rhythm and product DNA.

6:00pm-7:00pm: Networking & Demos. Enjoy some pizza and snacks while checking out experimentation platform demos from Walmart, Jet.com, Netflix and Intuit.

7:00pm – 7:15pm: Opening by Frank Zhu, VP of Product Analytics at Walmart Global eCommerce.

7:15pm – 8:15pm: Presentation by Jerry Yang, Director at Walmart Global eCommerce, on “The Evolution of A/B Testing at Walmart.”

8:15pm - 9:00pm: Post presentation networking

Check in

Check in starts from 5:30pm. Please sign in and get temporary pass at the front desk in the lobby. Lobby entrance is on both sides of the building. See the map below for detail.

Parking

We have around 50 parking spots at the lobby level surrounding the office building. See the parking sign in the map below. For overflow, you can try Bayhill Shopping Center parking across the street (you need to be a customer, so at least buy a Starbucks). We encourage people to carpool or use ride share.
