✨**Greetings Mighty Companions!**✨
As we launch into October, we’ll feature a mind blowing, evocative and epic movie called Contact, (with Jodie Foster, Matthew McConaughey, and James Woods.) This film is a thrilling ride into the light of higher purpose and deeper listening. It depicts the earnestness and determination that is required in our search for truth... Clearly showing us the importance of formulating a clear goal, keeping it in mind, and persevering until it is reached. And we’ll see how the desire for meaningful contact with what lies beyond, must include meaningful communication with those around us, regardless of our seeming differences.
Format:
1:30-1:35pm HST: Logistical announcements,
1:35-4:25pm HST: Keynote setup, featured movie with ACIM commentary and teachings.
4:25- 5:15pm HST: Group discussion, official end of gathering.

✨For those of us who have been practicing the daily lessons from the Workbook of A COURSE IN MIRACLES:
This class will inspire renewed commitment and increased zeal, to continue our practical application of the workbook lessons through the holidays with God’s strength carrying us into the new year... ✨
Our main character is astronomer Ellie Arroway, (played by Foster), who’s deep childhood fascination with the cosmos is driven by her desire to make contact with intelligent extraterrestrial life. She knows what she wants and nothing will stop her! Her desire will prove so compelling that it will remove the obstacles to its attainment. Little does she know that fulfilling her desire will involve healing the childhood trauma of her father dying suddenly of a heart attack. And we’ll see what it looks like to have her ego humbled, when an adversarial supervisor takes credit for her hard work. To move forward and accomplish her mission, Ellie will have to learn to forgive, let go of her plan and take a back seat. And she’ll have to withstand the corruption of governmental overreach in the name of national security. But she’ll persevere when all seems lost and utterly impossible, to discover a miraculous path open up before her!
In her determination and continuous search for intelligent contact, Ellie meets Palmer Joss, one of her mighty companions (played by McConaughey). Their lives are interwoven by fate, for they keep crossing paths. Through many synchronicities, and what appears to be a higher hand helping them, they are able to work through ideological differences and help each other. And they do discover deeper intimacy, as they expand their minds. This isn’t a Hollywood love story. It’s the story of a relationship which serves a purpose bigger than the relationship. They must choose either to hold onto their differences, or jump into something vast, exciting and unknown.
The Course teaches us we don’t really have separate interests, but we can join with all of humanity in the common purpose of truth. Truth is holy and the means to find it is forgiveness. Once truth is mutually recognized, our relationships begin to transcend ego differences and reflect peace instead. This leads to letting go of the past completely, releasing all perceived "wrong doing" in favor of a higher willingness. Truth is timeless ultimately, and transcends our beliefs, bringing undoubtable experience.

- Listening is always answered. (We can always listen more deeply.) Listening and following is a happy way of life, which takes willingness and perseverance, yet brings profound peace and meaning.
- Collaboration is essential, but must be intelligently guided in order to reveal the truth.
- Recognizing we truly don’t know anything, is to recognize a grand Intuitive Intelligence that knows perfectly what is best for everyone in each of our decisions.
