****Note: What makes us DIFFERENT-

Instead of agreeing on one book to read for each meeting, we each read whatever we want, then share with the rest of the group. Our discussions are always fresh and interesting!

This isn't a typical book club. In fact, one of our members confided that she never refers to this meetup as her 'book club'. She prefers describing it as something like, 'a group of people who get together and talk about books'. We're independent readers who are curious about everything.

Books we've talked about cover an extremely wide range of topics; some examples include: the history of salt, a man lost at sea, why some technological developments should make us optimistic about the future of the planet, creativity at Pixar, neuroplasticity, American sub-cultures, biographies, the economics, geography and biology underpinning the development of the New World, the politics of mental illness, harnessing a positive mental attitude, the changing role of the police in the US, walking the Appalachian trail, communication in the workplace, Lincoln's role in the Civil War, personal brushes with Amish culture, the intersection of wine and history, how geography has shaped society, working for minimum wage, con artists, arctic survival, the true cost of health insurance, spies, pilots and much much much much more.****

Have you read a non-fiction book lately? Come and tell us about it! This relaxed and friendly book group is for those who enjoy reading non-fiction, asking questions, and having thought provoking, fun discussions on a wide variety of topics. Read whatever you want, then come and spend a few minutes discussing it with us. No formal book reports- don’t worry! Paper books, e-books and audio books are all considered ‘books’ for the purposes of this group :)

Let's talk about the books you've been reading.

Looking forward to meeting you!

*If you are on the waitlist: the day before the meetup, please check this page to see if you’ve been bumped into an open spot. If you are STILL on the waitlist and you are sure you will be able to make it, please send a direct message to our organizer, Sharon Auerbach. She will do her best to get you a seat. You might be wondering, ‘in that case, why set an attendance limit at all?’ Trust us- there is a method to the madness.
