Peer Support Kickoff: A Group for the Discouraged

Are you feeling discouraged, struggling with low motivation, or facing challenges in your personal and professional life? Join us for the inaugural online gathering of “A Group for the Discouraged,” a newly formed peer support community where individuals like you come together to find understanding, encouragement, and external motivation.

Agenda:

1. Welcome and Introductions (15 minutes):

• Participant introductions: Share your name, background, and current focus or project.

2. Focused Work Session (30 minutes):

• Dedicated time for individuals to work on personal projects (e.g., updating CVs, job applications, business plans).
• Benefit from the presence of peers to boost external motivation and accountability.

3. Group Check-In and Discussion (15 minutes):

• Open floor for you to share your experiences during the work session.

• Discuss feelings, challenges encountered, and areas where support is needed.

• Exchange encouragement and practical advice.

What to Bring:
• A personal project or task to work on during the session.
• A willingness to share and support fellow participants.
• An open mind and a collaborative spirit.

Additional Information:
• This is a peer-led support group; there are no formal instructors.
• Confidentiality and respect are paramount; please honor the privacy and experiences of fellow participants.
• While this group offers mutual support, it is not a substitute for professional mental health services.
