Let's get together and go for a one-day trip to the amazing castle-island, to Marstrand.
where the archipelago ends and the open sea begins, we find the island of Marstrand with an old and huge fortress at the top. The sailing seaside town is filled with all kinds of boats, cozy homes along car-free streets, top restaurants and cafées, hills and walk trails plus pure nature.
We meet at 10:20 at Göteborg Central Station and take the train Vässtågen 3742 towards Strömstad. We get off at Ytterby station. And then take the bus towards Marstrand.
We take the bus at 17:00 at Marstrand to get back to Göteborg.
It takes one hour and half to get to Marstrand. It's part of Zones A and B of Västtrafik.
The walk around island is more or less 8 kilometers or two hours. It's a medium-paced walk.
The whole event might take 8 hours.
It's warm and pleasent so we take long rests to take a swim, take pictures and play music and to enjoy the spring vibes on the island.
The route is sandy, rocky and hilly in some parts. Be preapared. Wear proper walking shoes.
Bring enough water, tea, coffee and food or snacks with you.
