Beach Volleyball at Jenness Beach - EARLY START available, come when you can

Come join us at Jenness Beach for volleyball with the bonus of sunshine, ocean breezes, and a chance to dip your feet in the ocean.

Because it’s getting dark earlier, we’re going to try starting at 5pm so we get more play time. If you have commitments that don’t allow you to arrive that early, you are still welcome to come when you can. We have been experimenting with ways to incorporate lights so we can continue to play after the sun goes down.

NOTE: If we don’t have “Yes” RSVPs for at least 10 players by 3pm on the day of the game, we will cancel for the week.

LEVEL OF PLAY

This event is the social, easy end of recreational volleyball, but enthusiasm and a good sense of humor are required. No using feet or legs to hit the ball. Newcomers are welcome. No negative behavior is tolerated.

Team size is usually 6 players per team on the court at one time. Any additional players rotate in. If we have 18 or more players present, we typically split into 3 teams and rotate whole teams in for shorter games.

WHAT TO BRING

The beach is often cooler and more breezy than inland, so there may be days when you would be glad to have an extra layer of clothing with you.

You can buy bottled water and snacks at the Sandpiper Grocery across the street. Also, the water fountain at the bathhouse has been replaced is functioning again.

BATHROOMS

Bathrooms at Jenness Beach may close for the evening while we are still playing and at some point will be closed for the season. There are port-a-potties next to the bathhouse. The central and southern bathhouses at Hampton Beach are usually open later.

PARKING

• Metered parking at the beach. Credit cards and cash are accepted. Time purchased at any NH beach meter is good at any other NH beach with meters.

• Free parking along the main road (NH-1A) except where signed otherwise.

WEATHER

Passing showers don't necessarily cancel this event, but drenching rain, thunderstorms that don't pass quickly, or cold weather may cancel this event.

If you are bringing a guest...it is your responsibility to ensure that your guest agrees to the release of liability and complies with the requests of any organizer. If you want to bring more guests than the Meetup site allows, just contact the organizer in advance.
