What we’re about
***NOTE: A PERFECT SWING IN NOT AFFILIATED WITH ANY OTHER ADULT MEETUP GROUPS***
OPEN TO MEN AND WOMEN OF ALL AGES, ETHNICITY, AND GOLF SKILL LEVELS!!!
We provide activities for women, men, and youth of all skill levels. If you are new to playing golf and need assistance with holding/gripping the club, you would fall into the classification of a Newbie. If you are a newbie, we ask that you reach out to our LPGA Golf professional, Ashaunta, at 704-883-9844 to get an initial consultation of where you should start. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any of the organizers.
In the midst of the challenges of playing the game of golf, there is a great opportunity to network and have a ton of fun. Whether you have only considered playing golf or if you are already enjoying playing the game, A Perfect Swing Golf Group has a meetup just for you. You are responsible for your own fees charged by the facility. Check out our website at aperfectswing.net. We welcome you to join our meetup and play golf with us. In addition, we would love to have you as an A Perfect Swing Golf Association member. All of the fees support our 501(c) youth initiative, A Perfect Swing Foundation.
Membership in the A Perfect Swing Golf Association is required for continued play. This will ensure that we can continue to provide quality programming and support our 501c3 non-profit youth program. All non-member participants will be allowed to participate for two (2) events (one guest maximum). Afterwards, paid membership is required to continue to enjoy the reduce golf prices for play and great group fellowship.
The individual membership donation is $50 for the first year, with a renewal donation of $35 per year. Some membership benefits include: a personalized A Perfect Swing Golf Association Signature Membership polo and ID card, reduced prices for golf workshops/events and eligibility for year-round membership promotional offers including free range balls, free golf apparel, free green fees. There is a “Golf Only” membership for those interested in just playing golf through our meetup.com site. It is $60 per year, prorated based on when you join.
You can learn more about the A Perfect Swing golf organization and sign up on our website at https://aperfectswing.net/aps-golf-association.
You can also attend Golf 100: Introduction to A Perfect Swing Golf, our monthly conference call held the first Tuesday of every month. While we would love your support with our youth, please note that joining as a member does not mean you must work with our youth.
Each event has a player classification level associated with it. Please use the definitions on our website at: https://aperfectswing.net/play-golf-with-us to identify the event that is suited for your skill level. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any of the organizers.

Event Description:
Volunteers age 13 and older (ages 13-16 must be with an adult that is also scheduled) will inspect, sort or pack donated products to be distributed to our partner agencies including homeless shelters, low-income daycares, emergency pantries and soup kitchens.
Individuals must be able to follow instructions independently given by our staff in order to sort donated food products as per FDA guidelines. Please note that volunteers are in our working warehouse with fast moving equipment such as forklifts and loud noises.
Important Reminders - Please read:
- This shift is for volunteers ages 13 and older. Age 13 - 16 must have an adult age 21 or older with them during the entire shift and must be scheduled. Sorry no younger siblings will be permitted to participate. Youth Groups must have 1 adult per 4 youth. Youth Groups that do not follow instructions or safety procedures, will be asked to leave immediately and will not be able to register for future dates.
- Attire: Closed Toe Shoes are required to enter our building. You will not be permitted to volunteer in sandals, flip-flops or an injury type of foot boot, as you will be in our working warehouse. Please wear comfortable clothing. No controversial wear. During colder days, a light jacket or sweatshirt is best. During warmer months, shorts of a respectful length are permitted. Earbuds are not permitted for safety reasons
- Latecomers: Project instructions are given at the beginning of each shift. Anyone arriving 10 minutes late will not be able to enter the building. We close and lock the door 10 minutes after the start time, as we don't have a receptionist on the weekends. Please arrive a few minutes early to get checked in as it hurts our production if our staff has to go over the instructions for the second time to latecomers. Arriving 10 minutes early will give you time to sign-in, make a name tag and use the restroom if needed.
- REQUIREMENTS: Standing during the shift is required, bending and light lifting is necessary. All volunteers must be able to perform all tasks on their own.
- Food & Drink: No outside food or drinks of any kind are permitted in our building. Volunteer Stations in the warehouse will have bottled water for our volunteers.
- Sickness: If you are showing any signs of being sick, please stay home. If you do arrive and we feel that, it is best that you are not around food or other volunteers; we will ask you to leave. Thank you for understanding.
- No weapons of any kind is permitted inside our building
- Waiver - Our sign-in sheet includes our SHFB waiver so there is no need to have your group sign anything before they arrive.
- Location: 500-B Spratt Street, Charlotte 28206. (Crisis Assistance is next to us and they are 500-A)
- Parking: You may park in our parking lot (left side of our building), gravel lot across from the food bank, in our neighbor’s parking lot (Crisis Assistance Ministry) or in the street (no meters). Please note that you may park on the outside of the circle only. Do not park where signs are located that say “No Parking” posted on the inside of the circle or in our staff parking lot as your car may be towed.
- Entrance: Please go to the parking lot on the left side of our building, go towards the back of our building and you will see a ramp with doors that are marked entrance.
- Purses/Valuables: Please leave valuables at home or lock in your car trunk. We do not have lockers to store purses and are not responsible for any lost items that may fall into a bin while you are sorting.
- Zero Tolerance Policy: Anyone putting candy, snacks or any other item into their pocket, will be asked to leave and will not be able to volunteer for any future dates. If the individual is with a group, the entire group will be asked to leave and not be able to attend in the future. We strongly enforce this policy.
