Discover the Magic of the Shruti Box – Voice & Sound Workshop
Curious to explore a new instrument and open your voice?
We’re delighted to invite you to a unique workshop dedicated to discovering the magic of the shruti box, taking place on Sunday, September 14 at 3:00 PM.
In Sanskrit, the word śruti means "revelation" — and this small harmonium-like box reveals not only its own healing power, but also the healing potential of your voice.
Over three hours, you will:
• Learn the basics of how to use and play the shruti box
• Discover essential chords and their energetic effects
• Experience the transformative potential of vocal improvisation
The second part of the workshop is where the true magic begins.
We’ll explore toning, a practice of vowel-based vocal improvisation that helps release old patterns and connect to your fundamental tone. The session will culminate in a Shruti Mantra Sutra ceremony — a collective, intuitive chanting experience inspired by the teachings of Don Conreaux, master of the gong and pioneer in sound healing.
The workshop will be led by Nirmal Karam, yoga teacher, gong master, and experienced sound therapist specialized in the Gong, Shruti Box, and Kirtan.
Shruti boxes will be provided for group use.

À la découverte de la magie de la Shruti Box – Atelier Voix & Son
Envie de découvrir un nouvel instrument et d’ouvrir votre voix ?
C’est avec beaucoup de joie que nous vous invitons à un atelier unique consacré à la magie de la shruti box, le dimanche 14 septembre à 15h.
En sanskrit, le mot śruti signifie « révélation » — et cette petite boîte à bourdon révèle non seulement son propre pouvoir guérisseur, mais aussi celui de votre voix.
Pendant trois heures, vous apprendrez :
• Les bases pour utiliser et jouer la shruti box
• Les accords essentiels et leur impact énergétique
• L’art de l’improvisation vocale pour libérer la voix
C’est dans la deuxième partie de l’atelier que la magie opère pleinement.
Nous pratiquerons le toning, une improvisation vocale basée sur les voyelles, permettant de libérer des schémas anciens et de retrouver votre ton fondamental. Nous terminerons par une cérémonie appelée Shruti Mantra Sutra, une pratique collective de sons et mantras improvisés, inspirée de l’approche du maître du Gong Don Conreaux.
L’atelier sera guidé par Nirmal Karam, enseignant de yoga, maître du Gong et praticien expérimenté en sono-thérapie, Shruti box et Kirtan.
Des shruti boxes seront mises à disposition pour jouer ensemble.
