Take an easy hike, make friends, sing ancient mantras that are easy to learn, and experience joy….or at the very least, HOPE!

Sometimes the problems we face seem so insurmountable, the pain that we feel seems so deep, the weight on our shoulders seems so heavy, that the idea of meditating seems so far removed, disconnected from our reality.

“Meditate?” You may ask, “How’s that gonna help my problem go away? How’s that going to stop this pain? How’s that going to lift this giant weight off of me?”

This dark, crazy age that we’re in is described by the Vedas as the age of chaos, quarrel, and confusion. In this age, we’re stuck in the material condition like a thick fog, where we feel so lost that we don’t even know who/what we are, let alone what direction to step toward.

We suffer in the illusion that the material body and mind we’re encased in is us. We identify with whatever labels are attached to this body….male, female, and everything in between, young, old, this race or nationality, wealthy, poor, educated, etc. While all of these labels are temporary and meaningless in the eternal perspective, the pure spiritual self within the material body remains unrealized and unfulfilled.

This particular process of meditation—hearing and chanting of spiritual sounds, enjoyably with musical instruments or simply clapping—-is so powerful it dissipates the fog of the material condition and gives us clarity to see who we truly are and what our real purpose is.

These spiritual sounds are so potent because they’re delivered to us via an unbroken chain of bona fide spiritual teachers. When a self-realized spiritual teacher has received that spiritual sound from his own teacher, who has received it from the teacher before and the teacher before going up the lineage all the way back to the spiritual realm, then the sound will have actual substance, spiritual potency.

The spiritual potency of these sounds means that they’re not just mundane sounds. They actually contain within them the entire spiritual reality and they have the power to transform you. When you engage in this process of hearing and chanting them, you will become cleansed, refreshed, and enlightened, and you will have a spiritual experience of the spiritual reality.

This is not a Meetup for any hocus pocus stuff. No unicorns here. Just real people practicing a meditation process that offers real results. The process is very easy, fun, and enjoyable. It can be performed while walking, driving, gardening, waiting in line, etc. so it is very easy to incorporate into our daily lives.

We will meet up and incorporate this meditation process with our hike.

There is no requirement, no fees. All are welcome.

What we will do:

  1. At 3:40, we will leave the residential area and walk toward Crystal Cove Trail. We’ll make a stop at the restrooms here: Restrooms We’ll also take a few minutes to stretch before proceeding down towards the beach.

  2. We’ll get onto the beach and turn right towards the cavernFind us here if you arrive late

  3. Near the cave, I’ll introduce the mantra meditation to everyone, and we’ll practice chanting the mantra together for about 15 minutes.

  4. We will begin walking again on the beach, chanting along as we walk. For the most part I will continue the chanting, and you can stay near and follow along, or break away from the group as you like, going at your own pace.

  5. Deep dive: We will stop at a nice spot on the beach where we can gather together again and have a more immersive session of mantra meditation (about 20 minutes or play by ear).

  6. Return to starting point and wrap up.

Please be prepared and bring all your provisions that you usually bring with you on a hike—plenty of water, sunscreen, hat, a snack, sandals for walking on the sand if you dont want to go barefoot, and an extra layer in case the temperature drops. If you want to bring a towel for sitting on the sand, that would be a plus!
