Join us for Fresno Reads: A Day-Long Reading Celebration on Sunday, April 19th from 11 AM – 7 PM, hosted by Centered Margins, the nonprofit arm of Judging by the Cover: A Bookstore.

Fresno Reads is all about making reading joyful, welcoming, and accessible for everyone. Throughout the day, we’ll celebrate stories in all their forms—whether you love listening, reading quietly, or sharing your own words out loud.

The day kicks off with a lively children’s story hour hosted by Drag Story Hour Central Valley, followed by a relaxing silent reading hour and a genre readers mixer where you can meet fellow book lovers and talk all things books. We’ll close out the evening with an open mic, inviting poets, writers, and storytellers to take the stage and share their work in a supportive community space.

Plus: Free books, free audiobooks, and free e-book codes will be available throughout the day—because everyone deserves access to stories.

Come for an hour or stay all day—this celebration is yours to enjoy however you like. 📚

All ages welcome.

*Please note that open mic content may not be suitable for younger audiences.
