Writers' Book Club: Dracula by Bram Stoker
Details
Welcome to the Writers' Book Club! This is a book club with a twist: we get together to discuss a novel we've all read (today's book is DRACULA by Bram Stoker), but with an emphasis on the craft of fiction.
This means we talk about what we thought the author did well, any weaknesses in the writing, what literary devices were being used and whether they were successful, etc. The aim is to discover what we can learn from the author and their book, and to discuss how we might apply these lessons to our own writing.
You don't need to be an experienced writer to attend, but you should at least have an interest in creative writing.
Your host Maria (published author & lifelong book nerd) will start us off with a short presentation of background information and important things to note about the book. We will then open it up to general discussion. We will finish off the meeting with a creative writing exercise or two inspired by the book.
IMPORTANT: make sure you have read the book in its entirety before attending the meeting. Do bring the book with you, as well as a notebook or something else to write with.
This event will be recorded. Everyone who books a place will have access to the recording for 1 month.
Any questions or comments, please get in touch: maria@aspacetowrite.com
Can't wait to see you on Sunday November 8th for DRACULA by Bram Stoker! 🧛
