Yes, keeping jazz alive in the AV and creating places for musicians to jam. The group is for jazz musicians, jazz vocalist and jazz enthusiasts, who are really into the old standards. If you can play, yes play and have had enough of the backing tracks in your music room and you aren't fearful of publicly performing with other musicians, come join the rest of us here in the AV area. The same for you male and female vocalist. Not for NEWBIES, this is not a talent show, hope that's not too harsh. We will be doing old-school standards. Hey! If you love these old standards but don't hear them played live often enough, there's a seat waiting for you. The goal is to have a few places to choose from without leaving the AV. Ellington, Basie, Ella, Sarah, Miles, Wes, Cole Porter, Jobim. Bird, etc., Autumn Leaves, Foggy Day, Bewitched, Black Orpheus, Day of Wine and Roses, Girl from Ipanema, Doxy, etc.
