Story of London: Roman Origins (Online)

Details
Our online tour will follow the line of the Roman city walls, where there are some splendid archaeological remains to see. We will discover the locations of Roman buildings such as the Basilica/Forum, infantry fortress and baths.
We will view images of the splendidly reconstructed Mithraic temple as well as the atmospheric remains of the Roman amphitheatre.
Along the way we will discuss the invasion of AD 43, the growth of Roman London, the destruction of the city by Queen Boudicca and its resurrection as capital of Britannia.
We will finish with displays from the Museum of London where there is a fine gallery dedicated to the Roman period.
A set of notes will be sent out to participants after our live event.
We may not be able to exercise together at the present time, but we can still enjoy each other's company and learn together.
