Discover Bristol: Let's explore the Heart of the Old City

Details

Payment is in advance for this tour. Once you have booked your place on Meet Up, Steve will be in touch about paying the walk fee to secure your place.

Get your week off to a good start with two hours of guided walking in attractive surroundings with pleasant company.

The focus is very much on getting to know your fellow walkers, fresh air and gentle exercise. Exercise, socialising and learning are three out of the five steps to mental wellbeing.

On these Discover Bristol sessions Steve shares his extensive research on the wildlife, history, geography and geology of the city. There is also plenty of time to chat about random stuff that comes up along the way.

On our tour of the Old City of Bristol will discover the layout of the medieval town, admire architecture from across nearly a thousand years and dive into several alleyways in search of the hidden gems of lives long gone.

As is our custom a historical travelogue style article based on Steve's extensive research notes will be sent out to participants after the event.

We take coffee at the end of our Discover Bristol walks. This time we will visit the cafe in St Nicolas Market.

This is a great opportunity for a bit of leg stretching and some tongue wagging along the way. Exercise, socialising and learning are three out of the five steps to mental wellbeing.

A Walk in the Past is a friendly group where regulars and newcomers are always welcome. Our aim is to combine a good walk with pleasant company in historic landscapes.
