Discover Bristol : Westbury-on-Trym and Badock's Wood
Details
WE'RE WALKING ON WEDNESDAY THIS WEEK
Payment is in advance for this tour. Once you have booked your place on Meet Up, Steve will be in touch about paying the walk fee to secure your place.
Steve has received requests that we do some woodland walking as autumn seems to be coming on early this year.
Two hours of guided walking in attractive surroundings with pleasant company. The focus is very much on getting to know your fellow walkers, fresh air and gentle exercise.
On these Discover Bristol sessions Steve shares his extensive research on the wildlife, history, geography and geology of the city. There is also plenty of time to chat about random stuff that comes up along the way.
Our walk through the little pockets of urban countryside in and around Westbury-on-Trym will be around two and a half miles in length. The pace will be modest and there will be plenty of time to stop and enjoy the autumn woodland scenery.
We take coffee at the end of our Discover Bristol walks. This time we will visit the Grupo Lounge in Westbury-on-Trym.
This is a great opportunity for a bit of leg stretching and some tongue wagging along the way. Exercise, socialising and learning are three out of the five steps to mental wellbeing.
As is our custom a historical travelogue style article based on Steve's research notes will be sent out to participants after the event.
A Walk in the Past is a friendly group where regulars and newcomers are always welcome. Our aim is to combine a good walk with pleasant company in historic landscapes.
