A Walk in the Past is a friendly group where regulars and newcomers are always welcome. Our aim is to combine a good walk with pleasant company in historic landscapes.

On a Sunday we enjoy a traditional countryside walk. Over the course of each month we aim to offer walks to the north, south, east and west of Bristol. This week we are heading south.

Our walk starts with a tour of the historic village of Wrington where we will hear about connections with the lives of philosopher John Locke and eighteenth century educationalist Hannah Moore.

We will also discover the origins of the Butcombe Brewery and seek out the Cottage Hospital.

After refreshments in one of the village pubs it is time for our walk through the local countryside to enjoy the autumnal colours of Avon Wildlife Trust reserve at Goblin Combe.

A set of written notes will be emailed out to walkers after the walk. This will allow you to hold on to what you have picked up from our exploration of Wrington and Goblin Combe.

If you would like to lift share from Bath or Bristol for this event please use the comments board below to facilitate this.
