Discover Bristol: A Winter Walk on The Downs
Details
Get your week off to a good start with two hours of guided walking in attractive surroundings with pleasant company. The focus is very much on getting to know your fellow walkers, fresh air and gentle exercise.
On these Discover Bristol sessions Steve shares his extensive research on the history, geography, wildlife and geology of the city. There is also plenty of time to chat about interesting finds that we discover along the way.
The Downs is an old favourite of ours. We always find something new to explore. On this visit we will be delving back deeper into the origins of the Downs and also seeing what winter brings to the wildlife of this unique open space.
We enjoy a coffee in a local café at the end of our Discover Bristol walks. This week we are at the Downs Cafe where there is excellent cake.
This is a great opportunity to start your week with a bit of leg stretching and some tongue wagging along the way. Exercise, socialising and learning are three out of the five steps to mental wellbeing.
A Walk in the Past is a friendly group where regulars and newcomers are always welcome. Our aim is to combine a good walk with pleasant company in historic landscapes.
