For today's tour Steve has found somewhere that we have not visited in Bristol before!

Over the last three years we have put on at least sixty different Monday tours across the whole of Bristol. We really know this city!

On these Discover Bristol sessions Steve shares his extensive research on the history, geography, wildlife and geology of the city. There is also plenty of time to chat about interesting finds that we discover along the way.

What on earth can there be to see of heritage value in Filton? Steve has used Know Your Place Online Mapping to track down several historic buildings in amongst the modern shopping centres and industrial estates of North Bristol. And we will hear about the role that this area played in the earliest days of the aviation industry.

As is our custom a copy of Steve's extensive research notes will be sent out to participants after the event.

We take coffee at the end of our Discover Bristol walks. This time we will visit the Croc Cafe or St Peter's Church Cafe or both).

The number 75 bus is the most direct route from Bristol City Centre to Filton. (Thanks, Adrian)

This is a great opportunity for a bit of leg stretching and some tongue wagging along the way. Exercise, socialising and learning are three out of the five steps to mental wellbeing.

A Walk in the Past is a friendly group where regulars and newcomers are always welcome. Our aim is to combine a good walk with pleasant company in historic landscapes.
