Sunday Winter Walk: Tockington, Olveston and Sheepcombe Brake and FULL MOON

In January and February 2026 we will be focussing our Sunday Countryside Walks on the landscape immediately beyond the urban hinterland of Bristol.

This week we will be walking around six miles to visit two delightful villages just to the northwest of Bristol. Tockington and Olveston are off the beaten track and both have plenty of historical interest to attract our attention.

Sunset is at 16:59 and the full moon rises at 16:23. We will find a local hill top where we can watch these celestial events at the end of our walk, if you would like to stay on.

A set of written notes will be emailed out to walkers after our walk. This will allow you to hold on to what you have picked up from our walk around these two Gloucestershire villages.

A Walk in the Past is a friendly group where regulars and newcomers are always welcome. Our aim is to combine a good walk with pleasant company in historic landscapes.
