Over the last four years we have put on over eighty different weekday tours across the whole of Bristol. We really know this city! Today we are revisiting an old favourite.

On these Discover Bristol sessions Steve shares his extensive research on the history, geography, wildlife and geology of the city. There is also plenty of time to chat about interesting finds that we discover along the way.

This week we are starting out from Mina Road Park where we will explore the industrial history of the area and hear about the Great Flood of 1882 before heading into St. Werburghs in search of Hobbit Houses and inner city farming. We will also discover the Medieval origins of Boiling Wells.

As is our custom a set of historical research notes will be sent out to participants after the event.

We take coffee at the end of our Discover Bristol walks. This time we will visit the cafe at St Werburghs City Farm

This is a great opportunity to get your week off to a good start with a bit of leg stretching and some tongue wagging along the way. Exercise, socialising and learning are three out of the five steps to mental wellbeing.

A Walk in the Past is a friendly group where regulars and newcomers are always welcome. Our aim is to combine a good walk with pleasant company in historic landscapes.
