Discover Bristol: Ashton Court Estate
Details
Stuff is happening at Ashton Court. The mansion has a new leaseholder and stuff is actually happening! Let's go see what we can find out.
Get your week off to a good start with two hours of guided walking in attractive surroundings with pleasant company. The focus is very much on getting to know your fellow walkers, fresh air and gentle exercise.
On these Discover Bristol sessions Steve shares his extensive research on the wildlife, history, geography and geology of the city. There is also plenty of time to chat about random stuff that comes up along the way.
Our main focus will be the History of the Smyth Family and the development of the house. We will make time for a stroll in the park land as we do like to go and see the two deer herds.
We enjoy a coffee in a local café at the end of our Monday Discover Bristol Tours. This week we will be visiting the stalls of the old stable.
This is a great opportunity to start your week with a bit of leg stretching and some tongue wagging along the way. Exercise, socialising and learning are three out of the five steps to mental wellbeing.
As is our custom a set of Steve's historical research notes will be sent out to participants after the event. This will allow you to revisit with family and friends and explore some more.
A Walk in the Past is a friendly group where regulars and newcomers are always welcome. Our aim is to combine a good walk with pleasant company in historic landscapes.
