Storytelling: It Takes a Village

Storytelling: It Takes a Village

Details

At Farmigo (http://www.farmigo.com), we want to transform the way we think about food, technology, and community - which is exactly what we're aiming to do with our monthly series. We are excited to partner with Food + Tech Connect (http://www.foodtechconnect.com/) for our October event and hear stories from five local food/tech entrepreneurs.

The theme of the evening is “It Takes a Village.” Five local food tech entrepreneurs will share their stories which illuminate how building a strong community has been vital to their success.

• Chris Muscarella (Speaker); CEO & Founder of Kitchensurfing (https://www.kitchensurfing.com/new-york). Chris helped open Rucola in 2010. Through that experience, he found an outstanding pool of talent eager for broader exposure to the world—hence: Kitchen- surfing. Chris cut his teeth as a tech entrepreneur as the Cofounder & President of Products of Mobile Commons, a mobile messaging platform for nonprofits, advocacy, fundraising, and political campaigns.

• Danielle Gould (Speaker); Founder of Food+Tech Connect (http://www.foodtechconnect.com/), whose mission is to make it easier for entrepreneurs to create a better, smarter future for food. Danielle is a founding member of the Culinary Institute of America's Business Leadership Council, a member of the Google Innovation Lab For Food Experiences and a contributor to Forbes and The Huffington Post.

• Benzi Ronen (Speaker); Founder and CEO of Farmigo (http://www.farmigo.com/) – Farmigo works to make local, farm-to-table food easily available, connecting farmers to neighbors, neighbors to each other, and everyone to a better way to eat.

• Noah Karesh (Speaker); Founder of Feastly (https://eatfeastly.com/). Noah is an innovative food enthusiast, technology lover and entrepreneur. He is obsessed with building products that create disruption and provide value. From a social media driven taco stand in the Middle East, to a highly praised pop-up cafe in D.C. (Blind Dog Cafe), to his current startup Feastly, Noah uses creative dining concepts to build community around the world.

• Michael Robinov (Speaker): Chief Imagineer of Farm to People (http://www.farmtopeople.com/). From working at the Union Square farmers to cooking crazy meals for his friends, Michael has always been inspired by the power of food to bring people together. However, with Genetically Modified food ending up in everything we eat and big corporations taking control of the food industry, Michael believes that it is more important than ever for people to know what's in their food and to be informed about the people who are making it.

Come early and enjoy yourself in our office right on the canal with beer and snacks. Then settle in to listen, think, get inspired.

There will be a brief Q & A after the storytelling portion of the event.
