Building accessibility directly into the service design journey

With 1 in 5 people experiencing some form of disability that might impact their experience with digital services, accessible design helps ensure that a wider audience can benefit. This talk highlights that designing for accessibility helps remove barriers to essential services, ultimately creating a smoother user journey for everyone.

We encourage attendees to consider temporary disabilities or changes in circumstances, like a broken wrist, that could affect a person's ability to engage with digital services. Their approach looks at accessibility from a few core principles: simplicity in design, colour choices, text, and vocabulary.

At its core, accessible design is about putting people first. When services are designed with empathy and attention to real-world needs, they become more inclusive and truly user-centred.

Introducing our hosts: Hippo Digital
Hippo is a trusted digital services partner that designs with empathy and builds for impact. By combining data-informed evidence, human-centred design and software engineering, Hippo helps it's clients thrive as modern organisations

This session would not be possible without ongoing support from TPGi
