How to Fail an Accessibility Audit: Lessons Learned the Hard Way
Beth Kish & Richard Walker - Answer Digital
Preparing for an accessibility audit can be a daunting experience. In this talk we'll share insights from our testing and consulting work, cutting through the noise by sharing what not to do. By understanding these "anti-patterns," you'll learn how to embed accessibility into your process and turn a difficult audit into a positive experience.
Everyday Accessibility (how to do a little A11y every day)
Ady Stokes & Scott Kenyon - Ministry of Testing
Accessibility is often an unconsidered system quality criteria or non-functional requirement in software development. Many testers, developers, designers and product owners do not understand that there are opportunities to consider accessibility throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Furthermore, they are unaware that advocating for and testing accessibility can be a daily practice with just a few simple adjustments to their mindset and approach.
This talk will include a brief introduction to digital accessibility, explaining why it is a human right. The ways in which you can consider, advocate for, and perform accessibility tests as part of your everyday routine.
Agenda timings TBC
Access requirements: there is ramp access between The Brew Society and Hippo Digital, but if you have any specific accessibility questions please reach out to use at access@a11ynorth.com
