Intro to accessibility, the VoiceOver screen reader, and more

Please join us for this single-track Meetup hosted by the City of Raleigh. Accessibility experts from SAS will present sessions specific to digital accessibility including:

• An introduction to accessibility including an overview of the different needs of users with different types of disabilities as well as a brief overview of SAS’ governance process for the company’s website content
• A demo of VoiceOver on iOS including an explanation of how blind people access digital content using it
• An overview of PDF accessibility and remediation
• An overview of accessibility requirements that impact users with low vision as well as tips for creating documents that satisfy those requirements

In addition to the presentations, there will be time to meet and greet others who produce accessible content and use assistive technologies.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

This meetup will be at the Raleigh City Council, Council Chamber, 222 West Hargett Street, Raleigh, NC, 27601. There are security desks at the entrances to the Municipal Building. Outside visitors will be asked to sign in at the desk.
