AccessU Book Signing: Digital Accessibility Ethics
Details
Cross-posting this event for our friends at Knowbility. Amber will be there and would love to see folks come out for an in-person event.
Join editor Lainey Feingold and contributor Jutta Treviranus at AccessU as they share a bit about the book, Digital Accessibility Ethics: Disability Inclusion in All Things Tech. Jutta and Lainey will answer questions, sign copies, and discuss the many topics covered in chapters by more than a dozen leading accessibility experts. The AccessU Book signing event will be the first public release.
About the Book:
Digital Accessibility Ethics: Disability Inclusion in All Things Tech is a groundbreaking collection of 32 chapters written by 39 disabled and nondisabled authors from 10 countries and one commonwealth. It is the first book on digital accessibility ethics and will be published on May 6th by CRC Press / Taylor & Francis Group.
The book introduces the Digital Accessibility Ethics Framework. It’s an action-oriented three-part tool designed to disrupt disability exclusion in tech with values, actions and questions.
The chapters apply the Framework through stories, strategies and best practices to a wide range of issues: from cybersecurity to artificial intelligence, from accessibility practitioner burnout to voting, marketing, hackathons, publishing and more.
Lainey Feingold, an editor of the book who also contributed two chapters, will be at AccessU delivering the first-ever workshop on Digital Accessibility Ethics. Knowing the long-time commitment to digital accessibility at this event — and knowing other authors will be attending the conference — Lainey selected AccessU and Austin to hold this book launch and signing event.
Please come join us to meet Lainey and the other authors and learn about the Digital Accessibility Ethics Framework, a living document destined to change and grow as it ventures into the world and is put into practice.
This is free and open to the public. You don't have to be attending AccessU to come to the book signing.
