The Why, What, and How of the GAAD Foundation
Jennison Asuncion co-founded Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) with Joe Devon in 2012. In 2021, he co-launched the GAAD Foundation on the occasion of the tenth GAAD. Outside of GAAD and the Foundation, Jennison is Head of A11y Engineering Evangelism at LinkedIn, is founder and co-lead of the Bay Area A11y and Inclusive Design Meetup (A11yBay), in addition to being cook and chief bottle-washer of A11y Camp Bay Area.

Michelle Hebert has been studying design for over a decade and has lived and worked overseas with some truly wonderful organizations. She holds a MA in design from SCAD Hong Kong and is deeply passionate about inclusivity in design. Currently, Michelle works as UX designer at Oracle and supports a11y efforts in the design system. When she’s not mulling over typefaces and strategy, you can spot her hiking or paddle boarding on the bay with her dog, Banjo.

Mark Steadman is a Senior Customer Success Engineer at Deque Systems. Mark has been working in the accessibility field for 7 years now. Mark’s main focus has been researching accessibility in JavaScript Frameworks (ReactJS, Angular, Vue) and creating automated accessibility solutions for development teams and organizations.
