The Power of A11y and Inclusive Design on Marginalized Communities and Education
Lana Arcinas is a recent grad from UC San Diego in Interdisciplinary Computing. As the driving force behind UX design and marketing at The Hub Basic Needs Center, Lana is passionate about crafting innovative solutions for open-access education and inclusive design in underserved communities. At UC San Diego Library, she co-led and mentored a dynamic cohort of student designers, digitizing resources and reshaping information architecture. She hopes to pursue UX that transcends traditional boundaries, where UX is synonymous with positive change and inclusivity.

Hard to Reach Audiences
Kris Angell, a senior user experience researcher with Amazon, will share how she finds hard to reach audiences for new product development. While at Hopscotch Labs, Kris worked with the City and Airport on key projects that they had to get right—potholes and wayfinding—and with SC Johnson-Ziplock on new kitchen products. Her work has led her around the world. Kris is an entrepreneur and UX community organizer focusing on human-centered design and generative research.

Kaheawai Kaonohi, a User Experience and Interface Designer at Red Door Interactive, has a passion for creating meaningful digital experiences. Kaheawai leverages self-taught skills and formal education to deliver transformative design solutions across diverse domains, showcasing expertise in design systems, user interfaces, and accessibility.
