What we're about

The Anxiety Recovery Centre (ARCVic) is a state-wide not for profit organisation that aims to ensure that all Victorians living with anxiety disorders have access to high quality community support and self help services.

Many people living with anxiety disorders feel isolated and alone in their experience so it can be validating and reconnecting to meet with others who may share similar experiences and feelings while bringing some fun into our days!

Our Anxiety Support Groups have been running for over 30 years and are open to anyone living with an anxiety disorder (including Obsessive Compulsive, Generalised, Social Anxiety/Shyness, Panic, Agoraphobia, Trichotillomania/Hair Pulling, Dermotillomania/Skin Picking, Hoarding, specific Phobias, PTS, etc). Family members and carers are also welcome to our groups.

Support Groups provide an opportunity for people to help one another, understand their anxiety disorder and the recovery process. We are having to adapt in ways that are completely new, and the unfamiliarity of this can bring anxiety for all of us. Each new day brings new guidelines and conditions however please remember that which has come to isolate us can also unites us.

At a time when we are having to physically distance ourselves from one another it is also a time to ensure we don’t emotionally disconnect, let our voices do the work, reach out through the distance and uncertainty of it all and let our human kindness and compassion do its job. We are vulnerable together, anxious together, sad together, scared together and hopeful to see a way through this time together.

At this stage all our face to face Support Groups will closed until further notice as ARCVic want to take certain precautions to protect our volunteers, staff and community members. You will need to book for our FREE online support group on ARCVIC’S website through the 'booking for events' section at the following link: https://www.arcvic.org.au/our-services/zoom-support-groups (https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.arcvic.org.au%2Fcommunity-education%2Fonline-support-group-bookings%3Ffbclid%3DIwAR0qJCe9Mp88Qt50n1SLghEJqcpNnlDE7JJFgZ0J4HG8-0dA1ZEDiMyRG7U&h=AT2hMUEKUBI84SghLdAVR4x-V7Nz02ynosnqYpMl4EGIYZv2P4Ot-MfpUNv8QFHtMvUM59c1aNjD6iEVskNY5twL4IQN4xkJ5Y3ZbCdQnZ7IbaBeYVtt6HXSB-V69YCy)
