Abstract
The productivity boost we get from LiveView as elixir devs is pretty spectacular. But what do we do when we need to go outside the boundaries of what LiveView gives us? In this talk I'm going to look at two specific cases and two specific solutions. We'll start with looking at what I hope to convince you is a great way to leverage existing javascript components: custom HTML elements. I'll be demoing a new library called live_elements that improves the integration between LiveView and custom elements. Next, I'll be looking at what do when your app isn't hosted by Phoenix at all: perhaps you have a website build with a static site generator for example. In this case, if you need to add dynamic "app-like" functionality LiveState might be your best bet. I'll talk about what LiveState is and how to work with it.
